About the courseA return to the fundamentals.
Academia Enlevo's Specialization Course in Freud is an online advanced-study program, created exclusively for current and former students who have already completed the Clinical Psychoanalysis Training at Academia Enlevo.
This is not an entry-level course. It is not a generic introduction to psychoanalysis, nor was it designed for those starting from scratch. Its purpose is different: to offer students who have already gone through psychoanalytic training a more concentrated immersion in the work, concepts, tensions and clinical power of Sigmund Freud.
Freud is not only the founder of psychoanalysis. He inaugurates a radical way of listening to the subject. From him onward, the symptom is no longer seen merely as an error or malfunction and comes to be understood as a compromise formation, the language of the unconscious, an expression of conflict, defense, desire, repetition and subjective history.
The Specialization in Freud was structured for those who wish to return to the fundamentals with a new level of maturity. The aim is to go deeper: to reread Freud with more rigor, to understand his concepts in an articulated way and to strengthen the theoretical foundation that sustains psychoanalytic practice. It is continuing education, because the psychoanalyst's training is ongoing.
Exclusive accessExclusive to current and former students of Academia Enlevo.
This exclusivity has a pedagogical reason. The course assumes that the student already knows the fundamentals of psychoanalysis, has already been introduced to clinical listening and already understands the ethics of the training. Without that foundation, advanced study of Freud can become fragmented or excessively theoretical.
That is why this course is not an entry point for new students. Those who have not yet taken the training should start with Academia Enlevo's Clinical Psychoanalysis Training. The Specialization in Freud is the next step for those who wish to keep studying with the institution and deepen their reading of Freud.
The conceptWhat is the Specialization in Freud?
It is an advanced-study program for those who already have a psychoanalytic foundation and wish to return to the point of origin of psychoanalysis with greater theoretical and clinical depth. In the initial training, Freud appears as a central axis but shares space with other authors. In this specialization, the focus is concentrated on Freudian thought.
Students are invited to study Freud not as a distant historical author, but as a living presence in the clinic. With each concept, the question is: how does this appear in listening? How does the unconscious manifest itself? How is the symptom organized? How does resistance present itself? How does desire shift? How does transference take hold?
The specialization also helps students understand that Freud does not offer ready-made formulas. Freud's work is a field of investigation that changes over time, corrects itself and demands careful reading. To study Freud is to learn to sustain complexity.
The aim is not to speed up practice or to promise complete mastery of the work in a few months. It is to offer an advanced study path for those who wish to mature their listening and deepen their relationship with the fundamentals of psychoanalysis.
Why study itWhy study Freud after the training?
Because Freud is the foundation that organizes the psychoanalytic field. Even when the psychoanalyst turns to Jung, Lacan, Klein, Winnicott or Horney, Freud remains the starting point. His work inaugurates listening to the unconscious and presents indispensable concepts for understanding the clinic.
Studying Freud after the initial training makes an important difference: the student no longer reads only as a beginner. Concepts that once seemed abstract take on a different weight. Repression, resistance, transference, desire, drive, narcissism and repetition begin to connect with listening, with cases, with ethics and with the analyst's position.
This is one of the reasons why the specialization is exclusive to Enlevo students: the course presupposes a prior foundation, so the study can move forward without returning to every introductory point.
Freud demands rereading. Those who read him only once tend to reduce his work. Those who return to Freud many times realize that psychoanalysis is not a set of ready-made answers, but a way of investigating the subject.
Who it is forFour paths to deeper study.
Career transition (already trained)
For those who completed the training after a career transition and want to consolidate their new professional identity, strengthening their foundation with greater intellectual confidence.
A calling for listening
For those who feel Freud is indispensable to occupying the analyst's chair more firmly — the dream, transference, resistance and the unconscious as the foundations of listening.
Health and human sciences professionals
Psychologists, physicians, educators, HR professionals, therapists and Enlevo-trained psychoanalysts who wish to broaden the theoretical foundation of their practice.
Seekers of excellence
For those who want more structure, reading and conceptual mastery — returning to the origin to sustain a more mature practice.
ObjectivesWhat you will deepen.
The central objective is to deepen the understanding of Freudian theory and strengthen the clinical foundation of students already trained in psychoanalysis at Academia Enlevo. By the end, students are expected to have deepened their ability to:
- Understand Freud as the founder of psychoanalysis and as an author in permanent theoretical development.
- Articulate concepts such as the unconscious, repression, desire, symptom, transference, resistance, drive, narcissism, repetition and sexuality.
- Read the clinic through listening to the subject, and not only through external categories or quick explanations.
- Recognize dreams, parapraxes, slips, fantasies and symptoms as formations of the unconscious.
- Understand the centrality of transference in psychoanalytic practice.
- Reflect on the role of resistance in the analytic process.
- Deepen the ethics of psychoanalytic listening.
- Strengthen the theoretical repertoire for practice, study, supervision and continuing education.
- Avoid hasty interpretations and simplistic reductions of Freud's work.
- Sustain a practice more aware of the limits of psychoanalytic work.
What you developGains throughout the specialization.
A more solid theoretical foundation
A return to Freud's central concepts in greater depth, moving beyond superficial reading to understand how the concepts connect with one another.
More refined clinical reading
Studying Freud strengthens listening: better recognizing repetition, resistance, displacements, formations of the unconscious and the marks of desire in discourse.
A better understanding of transference
One of the axes of the clinic: understanding its importance, its risks, its effects and its relationship with the analyst's position.
A more mature relationship with the symptom
In the Freudian reading, the symptom has meaning, function and history — listening to it as a compromise formation and an expression of psychic conflict.
Deeper grounding in ethics
Listening demands care with interpretation, confidentiality, limits, management and referral. Theory only has value when articulated with ethics.
Continuing education
The psychoanalyst's training does not end with the initial certificate — a stage of continuity to strengthen professional identity.
Virtual environmentHow the platform works.
The course takes place in Academia Enlevo's virtual learning environment, with recorded video lessons, support materials, readings, PDFs, books, activities, assessments and performance tracking.
The platform organizes the study journey and lets you progress within the set period. Because it is online, it offers flexibility to reconcile study, work, clinical practice and family.
The intensive program was structured for completion in 4 months, with the possibility of completing it within up to 1 year, according to the platform's academic rules.
Access to the course is released once the enrollment is confirmed by the banking institution. Bank slips (boletos) and other payment methods may have their own clearing times.
Certificate and limits480 hours, certificate and transparency.
The Specialization Course in Freud has 480 class hours, with an intensive program of 4 months and a maximum completion period of up to 1 year. Upon completing the modules, fulfilling the activities and meeting the pass criteria, the student receives the certificate issued by Academia Enlevo, presented as recognized by the RNTP.
This is a non-degree professional specialization course (curso livre). It is not an undergraduate degree, not a lato sensu postgraduate program accredited by the MEC (Brazil's Ministry of Education), and it does not replace higher-education programs or the legal requirements of regulated professions.
Nor should the course be presented as a first training in psychoanalysis. It is exclusive to current and former Academia Enlevo students who have completed the Clinical Psychoanalysis Training or have been authorized by the institution according to internal criteria.
Academia Enlevo stands for serious training. That is why this course does not promise employment, income, a caseload of patients, automatic recognition or institutional accreditation. What it offers is deeper study, learning and continuing education.

Suggested syllabus for advanced Freudian study, organized for the exclusive audience of students already trained in psychoanalysis. It may be updated by the coordination before final publication.
1 new module per week — gradual, guided release.
01 · Freud and the birth of psychoanalysis
The historical, clinical and intellectual context in which Freud inaugurates psychoanalysis — the shift from a medicine of the body to a listening that recognizes the symptom as psychic conflict.
02 · The discovery of the unconscious
The Freudian unconscious, its own logic, its modes of manifestation and its importance for listening — not as an abstract concept, but as the structure of the clinic.
03 · Dreams and formations of the unconscious
Dreams, parapraxes, slips, jokes and symptoms as formations of the unconscious: the subject says more than they know and reveals more than they intend.
04 · Repression, defense and resistance
Defense mechanisms, repression and the resistances that appear in the analytic process — how the psyche avoids painful or threatening contents.
05 · Symptom and compromise formation
The symptom as a psychic construction, an expression of conflict and an attempted solution, understood within subjective history.
06 · Infantile sexuality and psychic development

The technical papers: listening, evenly suspended attention, free association, interpretation, abstinence, neutrality, resistance and the analyst's position.
14 · The ethics of Freudian listening
Responsibility, limits, confidentiality, indication, referral, risk management and commitment to continuing education.
15 · Freud in the contemporary clinic

TransparencyWhat the course enables — and what it does not promise.
This course enables students to deepen their understanding of Freud's work and strengthen their psychoanalytic foundation after Academia Enlevo's Clinical Psychoanalysis Training.
It can contribute to study, clinical listening, writing, supervision, continuing education and the building of a more consistent professional identity.
The course does not promise to train psychoanalysts from scratch, does not replace the Clinical Psychoanalysis Training, and does not guarantee patients, employment, income, accreditation or authorization for activities reserved for regulated professions.
Nor does the specialization dispense with personal analysis, supervision, ongoing study and ethical responsibility. Freud is the foundation, but the psychoanalyst's training requires a path.
