How much psychoanalysis training costs in Brazil, on average
The price varies widely depending on the training model:
- IPA-affiliated societies: long, in-person programs with a selection process, training analysis and supervisions paid separately. The total investment is usually high and spread over several years.
- Traditional institutes: in-person or hybrid courses, with monthly fees over several years.
- Independent online training schools: more affordable prices, with a defined course load and flexible study.
Academia Enlevo is in the third group. The factors that change the price are detailed in the guide 7 factors that influence the price of psychoanalysis courses.
What is included
- 720 hours of training (Método Alma Enlevo, 24 modules)
- Original course materials
- Live classes every two weeks, all recorded
- Participation in a cohort, with debate and case analysis
- Online study platform, with access for up to 2 years
- Certificate of completion
Pausing your enrollment: how it works
Life changes: a new job, the birth of a child, illness in the family. Instead of forcing students to choose between paying without studying or dropping out, Enlevo lets them pause.
- You request the pause through student support.
- Your enrollment is paused for up to 12 months.
- Charges are suspended during that period.
- Whenever you want to come back, you resume where you left off, without redoing modules and without losing what you have already paid.
This policy exists because training as a psychoanalyst is a long path, and respecting the student’s time is part of the school’s ethics. See also Rights of psychoanalysis students.
How to compare prices without falling into a trap
| Ask the school | Why |
|---|---|
| Is the price total or monthly? For how many months? | A low monthly fee can hide a very long program |
| Are supervision and analysis included or separate? | They change the final cost a lot |
| Is there a certificate, enrollment or materials fee? | Hidden costs are common |
| Can I pause? Do I lose what I paid? | This defines the risk of the investment |
